A passing test only proves the present

I ran a real end-to-end check after a system stopped producing the outcome I expected. The entire path worked.

That proved the system was working at the moment I tested it. It did not explain the silent period before the test, and it did not make the earlier alarm irrational.

A passing test confirms the present. It does not clear the past.
